Buy Paintings Online

Looking to buy paintings online? Australian United Artists is owned and operated by an Australian artist. Buy art with confidence from Australian artists. In fact, only Australian artists are allowed to sell their art online on this site.

Original art for sale

It is a condition of selling art here that artists warrant that their art is original. The exception to this is where the artist has produced a limited edition print of a work.

Fair pay for artists

I pride myself in treating artists fairly. The site commission is a maximum of 10% plus the PayPal fee of 2.6%. Other sites with art online for sale charge 30%.

Australian United Artists was conceived by myself as a means of both a way to sell my art and to provide a portal for artists of all genres to sell art online.

I believe this is the only Australian owned, hosted and operated by an artist site that accepts art for sale, in addition to painters, from potters, wood turners, glass artists etc.

Affordable Art Australia – A Fair Go For All Australian Artists

Are you looking to buy affordable art Australia? Australian United Artists has a range of art to suit all budgets.

The art on this site is all by Australian artists. There are paintings on canvas and canvas board. We also have watercolour paintings for sale. There are oil paintings too.

Affordable Digital Art Australia

Yes we have digital artists selling digital paintings. This is probably the only site that include digital art for sale as a real art genre. The art world is constantly changing and digital art has progressed massively.

Pouring

Paint pouring is another artistic form you will find on the pages of the art gallery shop. Using this technique, the artist can achieve remarkable results where the paint appears to resemble marble, or makes mysterious swirls of colour that lead the eye to the main subject which may be painted using the same or traditional techniques.

Ceramics

Ceramic art include dolls, plates, pottery and figurines. We have two ceramic dolls for sale at the time of writing. All ceramic artists are welcome to sell on the site. There is no upfront cost and you do not even need to register to sell your art.

Woodcraft for sale

We are currently seeking artists who work with wood. There are categories for wood turners and wood carvers to sell their wooded artworks.

Postage

Regardless of which artwork for sale that you purchase, it will be carefully packed by the artist and sent to you direct from the artists studio. Postage is calculated using Australia Post calculators when you complete your address in the checkout. This is fairer than what is done on some other site where they simply add perhaps $100 or more to the price of the art (then cheekily say free postage).

Fees for selling

If you are an artist thinking of selling on this site, you will find the fees very attractive.

We charge a maximum of 12.6% including the PayPal fees of 2.6%. Our own fees are capped at a maximum of 10%.

Support Fred Hollows Foundation, Why?

I support the Fred Hollows Foundation as my way of giving. "Pay it forward" is the phrase commonly used. The foundation has restored sight to millions, yes millions of people. Worldwide.

My Story

Losing your eyesight is one of, if not the worst, things that can happen to you. I know, it happened to me.

There I was being the helpful soul, doing one of life's most mundane jobs. Picking up dog poos from the back yard.

The injury

There was a short fence in the yard made out of the old favourite corrugated iron, with a nice rusty edge. Well you can guess whats coming.

As I bent down to pick up one of those lovely deposits, the fence was edge on to my line of vision. It made contact with my left eye. The pain was instant and excruciating. I was instantly blinded. It was as if my right eye went on strike in sympathy. I could not force either eyelid to open.

I managed to crawl and feel my way into the house from where we went to the emergency department of the nearest hospital. On arrival the triage nurse must have seen us arrive and she assessed me immediately, skipping a dozen or so other people who were waiting. They gave me a pain-killer injection of pethadine.

Treatment

After a short time it was decided that they could not treat me and I was transferred to another hospital. As they took me out of the ED the sunlight hit me and the pain came back with a vengeance. I had a panic attack and tried to jump off the gurney and run away. After a while the staff got me calm again and the transfer proceeded.

At Royal Perth Hospital

At the next hospital the doctors saw me immediately and injected something into my eye. After two doctors had a look and a chat to each other they told me that I had torn the cornea in the left eye and that it was simply because of the pain that my right eye was refusing to open. They told me that my left eye would "relax" in time and the vision would return. Which it did.

Until it did, which was a few hours later, I the most traumatic and fear ridden time of my life.

Wrapping Up

I only lost my sight for that short time. There are millions of people who have irreparable damage to their sight. The Fred Hollows Foundation returns sight to people. Just $25 can return someones sight.

I pledge to donate 25% of any money I make from selling my art to the foundation. If you don't buy one of my paintings please consider making a donation to The Fred Hollows Foundation.

Australian Artists

All Australian artists are welcome on Australian United Artists. selling your art is easy on this site. Simply complete the form on the sell art page.

What makes this site different?

You will be treated fairly on this site. The fee for selling your art is capped at 10% plus the PayPal fees of 2.6% and 30 cents. Don't ask me why PayPal have the extra 30 cents, I think it's weird too.

Every art listing is treated to its own SEO optimisation before going up for sale. That is why we use the form and not the auto listing tool that other sites use.

When the auto listing tool is used on other sites it is common for a freight charge to be added to the price of your art. Sometimes as much as $100.

Freight is calculated at the checkout via our link to Australia Post using the size and weight of your art.

The site is secured by using Trustwave SSL security.

Non-Exclusive Rights

When you list your art for sale on this site you grant non-exclusive rights of sale. This means that you can still sell your art elsewhere, perhaps at your studio, a gallery or a market. All I ask is that when you sell an artwork elsewhere you let me know. I will then remove it from sale on the site to prevent disappointing a buyer.

Art sale categories

This is, I believe, the only Australian site to sell all genres of art. The art genres we sell are:

  • Abstract Art
  • Acrylic Paintings
  • Ceramics
  • Digital Paintings
  • Drawing and Sketching
  • Glass Art
  • Mixed Media
  • Oil Paintings
  • Pastel Paintings
  • Sculptures
  • Watercolour Paintings
  • Wood Carvings
  • Wood Turnings

If you art genre is not listed here it can go under the "all art" category or I may even add a category just for your genre.
